If the phone has been turned off or been outside coverage when the message was sent, it will normally occur extra delays. It may also be a routing problem between the gateway and the recipient's GSM network. In that case you should notify us immediately so we can troubleshoot and reroute the traffic if necessary. It can also be a temporary technical problem with a specific GSM operator, or a temporary delay created by network overload.
